Chelsfield Primary

Meet the Governors

Mrs R Tatton-Kelly

Chair of Governors

I became Chair of Governors at Chelsfield this academic year (2018-19), after being a staff governor here for the last couple of years. I worked at Chelsfield as a Class Teacher and Maths Subject Leader from 2015-2018.

Prior to that I had taught in Bromley and Bexley Primary Schools since 2002, with my expertise being in Maths. Before teaching I worked in politics. I have been on school governing bodies since 2000.

In my free time I enjoy genealogy, travelling and volunteering for English Heritage.

Mrs J Quinnell

Vice Chair of Governors

I have been a Governor at Chelsfield for 4 years. Prior to becoming a teacher I worked in Social work and adult education, whilst also serving as a Magistrate for several years in Inner London.

I was Deputy Head at Chelsfield Primary School many years ago, but now work part time with groups of gifted and talented children. My own children attended Chelsfield, so my association with the school is of about 30 years duration!

Mr R Wilson

Chair of Buildings and Sites Committee.

I have spent most of my working life in the printing industry, starting as an apprentice in 1970, specialising in security print.

Until 2012, I was Sales and HR Director at a large security and commercial printer in South London, after 10 years in this position I decided to semi retire and until 2014 worked as a consultant in the same industry, in the same year I decided to follow a different path and am now a part time caretaker at Chelsfield Primary School and I also hold the same position at Downe Primary School.

I have been a governor at Chelsfield Primary since 2016 and am presently chair of the Buildings and site committee

Most of my free time is spent with family as I have 5 children and 7 grandchildren.

Mrs G Charmarette

Co-opted Governor

My first concern is for the progress and achievement of our children, something I have tried to do over the past 25 years as a Governor of both Primary and Secondary Schools. As a retired teacher of science and of special needs, and former head of year in a large secondary school, I have a practical understanding of teaching and children. A former Bromley Borough Councillor for this Ward, I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Management and Administration from University College London. Reflecting the changing role of school governance, I value ongoing training and renewal of my skills.
